Winter Block Party Results Despite the record-setting amount of rain that fell Thursday night, the IMAGINE Sheil Park Winter Block Party was nothing short of a success. Over 80 community supporters, including Channel 7's Ben Bradley and Cook County Commissioner, Mike Quigley, weathered the storm to raise funds for IMAGINE Sheil Park Playground Renovation. The energy, enthusiasm and generousity of the group was incredible! With the tremendous support of Lakeview businesses who provided generous prizes and silent auction items, over $8,000 was raised towards the $250,000 needed to renovate the playground. We are only $55,000 short of our goal. As the host for the event, Mystic Celt provided a fantastic venue for the neighborhood party. The West Lakeview Neighbors group was on hand to lend support (they are providing a $1,000 gift to IMAGINE) and provide an opportunity for neighbors to get involved.

News February 26, 2009 - Winter Block Party raises $8,000! January 2009 - Scholastic Book Sale raised over $500 December 2008 - Jewel on Southport helps Project IMAGINE with Jewel Shop & Share. Shop & Share Picture October 2008 - Ryan Dempster nominated for MLB Roberto Clemente Award. Sheil Park gets a brief mention. September 6, 2008 - Sheil Park Advisory wins "Most Successful Grassroots Fundraising" award from the Chicago Park District September 2, 2008 - The rooftop fundraiser was a huge success.
